september: the rendezvous
September 7, 8, and 9, 2017 at Roche Harbor
With some 180 to 190 Ranger Tug and Cutwater boats, the docks at Roche Harbor are about filled to capacity for what Jeff Messmer has announced is the largest rendezvous ever IN THE WORLD! WOW! And it is amazing, a wonderful and friendly three days filled with sharing knowledge and fun, all related to enhancing our experiences as boaters. People have come from all over to be a part of this, and even though our numbers have grown tremendously over the years. we still have the feeling that we are part of a special and welcoming family here. Needless to say, the visiting starts immediately as we greet old friends and make new ones.
The theme this year is Margaritaville, and many boats are decked out for the party.

Fun and games as well as serious stuff include a scavenger hunt, fishing and crabbing derbies, corn hole tournaments, seminars, boat inspections, and more. We really enjoy the scavenger hunt that means long walks to far ends of the resort. A visit to the Sculpture Garden and to the Mausoleum are part of the hunt.
Socializing rules! On the docks, on the shore, at the evening gatherings . . .
About Roche Harbor . . . what can you say? It is stunning, and breathtaking at night.
Now for the meals, well, we feasted! Appetizers, main dishes, salads, deserts, all beyond belief. Ranger Tugs and the chefs at Roche Harbor really did go WHOLE HOG!
The blindfold dinghy race is short this year, not too many are eager to participate on a cold day. But, the enthusiasm is not lacking and it is great spectator sport.
Sam is ready with his camera on the roof of the marina building to take the annual Rendezvous photo. We are a colorful and fun group as we gather on the dock. Will be able to spot ourselves in the photo?
Festive days, quiet nights in beautiful Roche Harbor.
